Prophecy from Pastor Jeremiah Yap - for NL Shah Alam
(just in case any of you didn't manage to read it)

“There is a sound in heaven of the coming of His rain and glory of God’s release of His work in your territory. The prayer of the saints in your church has been heard and the Lord is about to turn that bowl of incense and pour out His mighty strength and power of the Holy Spirit upon New Life in Kota Kemuning.

Souls will be saved and planted into His Kingdom and discipled by the church. Resources will be added to you as I see the unlikely ones rising up into potential and quality people added into your fold to help in extending the work of the Lord into the community.

I see people coming forward from the congregation having hearts for community children and families in strife and suffering and leading them into the House of the Lord. The children are pulling the adults to church! These kids are excited and the presence of the Lord is upon them. They are used by the Lord. Some of them are children of people of stature and high professions. God will use them to resource your kingdom work. God is merciful to them and giving them a chance in His kingdom. There is maturity in the place.

I see leaders rising from the fold of the faithful and claiming on the promise that the people of this church shall be the head and not the tail. I see a lot of activities on behalf of New Life Shah Alam in the heavenly realm. Your church is pushing through another barrier. The wall is coming down. More cracks in the wall have appeared. Those who had difficulty in finding jobs will see their breakthrough because the church has broken through. His glory will be revealed. Significance is coming your way. Resources and finance is coming your way. Souls are coming your way. Blessings are coming your way! Get ready for it by your faith and prayer. I see more and more are willing to pray. There is an army of prayer warriors the Lord is raising to make a tremendous sound toward heaven and heaven is now responding with its own sound of the works and marvelous deeds of God upon the earth – through your church!”

* * * * *

Let's claim this promise from God & believe that it will come to past! (:
God is indeed working in our church & in the lives of the people.

Mother-in-Law

George went on a vacation to the Middle East with most of his family, including his mother-in-law. During their vacation, while they were visiting Jerusalem, George's mother-in-law died. With the death certificate in hand, George went to the American Consulate Office to make arrangements to send the body back to the States for proper burial.

The Consul, after hearing of the death of the mother-in-law told George that the sending of a body back to the States for burial would be very expensive. It could cost as much as $5,000.00. The Consul suggested that, in most cases the person responsible for the remains normally decides to bury the body here. This would only cost $150.00.

George thought for some time and responded, "I don't care how much it will cost to send the body back; that's what I want to do."

The Consul, after hearing this, said "You must have loved your mother-in-law very much considering the difference in price."

"No, it's not that," says George. "You see, I know of a case many years ago of a person that was buried here in Jerusalem. On the third day he rose from the dead!

I just can't take that chance.

silence......... haha, is NOT always GOLDEN. >.<

I read about a court case that was lost because of the silence of an attorney. The distinguished lawyer Samuel Hoar (1778-1856) was representing the defendant. When it was time to present his case, he told the jurors that the facts favoring his client were so evident that he would not insult their intelligence by arguing them. The jury retired to deliberate and returned in a few minutes with a verdict of guilty. Samuel Hoar was astonished!

"How," he asked, "could you have reached such a verdict?" The foreman replied, "We all agreed that if anything could be said for a case, you would say it. But since you didn't present any evidence, we decided to rule against you." Silence had lost the case.

How often the opportunity to speak a word of testimony for Christ is lost because we remain silent. Those who need to hear the gospel may conclude that salvation is not important enough to talk about. - Source Unknown.

Jokes, etc..

Joke 3:16

When the new patient was settled comfortably on the couch, the psychiatrist began his therapy session.

“I’m not aware of the nature of your problem,” the doctor said. “So perhaps you should start at the very beginning.”

"Of course," replied the patient. "In the beginning, I created the Heavens and the Earth."

New Priest

A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak. After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done. The monsignor replied, “When I am worried about getting nervous on the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip.”

So the next Sunday he took the monsignor’s advice. At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink. He proceeded to talk up a storm. Upon return to his office after mass, he found the following note on his door:

1. Sip the Vodka, don’t gulp.

2. There are 10 commandments, not 12.

3. There are 12 disciples, not 10.

4. Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.

5. Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his ass.

6. We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.

7. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior, and the Spook.

8. David slew Goliath, he did not kick the shit out of him.

9. When David was hit by a rock and knocked off his donkey, don’t say he was stoned off his ass.

10.We do not refer to the cross as the Big T!

11.When Jesus broke the bread at the Last Supper he said, “Take this and eat it, for it is my body”, he did not say, “Eat me.”

12.The Virgin Mary is not referred to as the, “Mary with the Cherry”.

13.The recommended grace before a meal is not: “Rub-A-dub-dub, thanks for the grub, yeah God”. and finally…

14.Next Sunday there will be a taffy-pulling contest at St.Peter’s, not a peter-pulling contest at St. Taffy’s.

Laughter, the *2nd* best medicine!

Kids in Church

Six-year-old Angie and her four-year-old brother Joel were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang, and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had enough of his antics.

"You're not supposed to talk out loud in church."

"Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked.

Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers."

---

Plaster of Parish

A crumbling old church building needed remodeling, so, during his sermon, the preacher made an impassioned appeal looking directly at the richest man in town. At the end of the sermon, the rich man stood up and announced, "Pastor, I will contribute $1,000."

Just then, plaster fell from the ceiling and struck the rich man on the shoulder.

He promptly stood back up and shouted, "Pastor, I will increase my donation to $5,000."

Before he could sit back down, plaster fell on him again, and again he virtually screamed, "Pastor, I will double my last pledge."He sat down, and a larger chunk of plaster fell on his head.

He stood up once more and hollered, "Pastor, I will give $20,000!"

This prompted a deacon to shout, "Hit him again, Lord! Hit him again!"

---

Black and White

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?"

"Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life."

The child thought about this for a moment, then said, "So why is the groom wearing black?"

Daily encouragement- A cheerful heart!

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Pro 17:22. TNIV

Where have you been?

Sometimes women are overly suspicious of their husbands. When Adam stayed out very late for a few nights, Eve became upset. "You're running around with other women," she charged.

"You're being unreasonable," Adam responded. "You're the only woman on earth."

The quarrel continued until Adam fell asleep, only to be awakened by someone poking him in the chest. It was Eve.

"What do you think you're doing?" Adam demanded.

"Counting your ribs," said Eve.

-------------------------

A very faithful woman

An elderly lady was well-known for her faith and for her boldness in talking about it. She would stand on her front porch and shout "PRAISE THE LORD!"

Next door to her lived an atheist who would get so angry at her proclamations he would shout, "There ain't no Lord!!"Hard times set in on the elderly lady, and she prayed for GOD to send her some assistance.

She stood on her porch and shouted "PRAISE THE LORD. GOD I NEED FOOD!! I AM HAVING A HARD TIME. PLEASE LORD, SEND ME SOME GROCERIES!!"

The next morning the lady went out on her porch and noted a large bag of groceries and shouted, "PRAISE THE LORD."The neighbor jumped from behind a bush and said, "Aha! I told you there was no Lord. I bought those groceries, God didn't."

The lady started jumping up and down and clapping her hands and said, "PRAISE THE LORD. He not only sent me groceries, but He made the devil pay for them. Praise the Lord!"

A minister tells a joke

A preacher, who shall we say was "humor impaired," attended a conference to help encourage and better equip pastors for their ministry.

Among the speakers were many well known and dynamic speakers. One such boldly approached the pulpit and, gathering the entire crowd's attention, said, "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman that wasn't my wife!"

The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying, "And that woman was my mother!" - The crowd burst into laughter and delivered the rest of his talk, which went over quite well. The next week, the pastor decided he'd give this humor thing a try, and use that joke in his sermon.

As he surely approached the pulpit that sunny Sunday, he tried to rehearse the joke in his head. It suddenly seemed a bit foggy to him.Getting to the microphone he said loudly, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of another woman that was not my wife!"

The congregation inhaled half the air in the room. After standing there for almost 10 seconds in the stunned silence, trying to recall the second half of the joke, the pastor finally blurted out, "...and I can't remember who she was!"

Being thankful!

The story of the Thankful Leper is an amazing story about 10 lepers calling out to Jesus to have pity on them and heal them. All ten lepers realize they were healed, but only one comes all the way back to Jesus, praising God for his mercy in healing him. only one... what happened to the other 9?

Firstly, what is leprosy?
Leprosy in Biblical times was a terrible thing, what may be known today as "Hansen's Disease." Whatever it was, once a person caught it, it was considered incurable, and those diagnosed with leprosy were banned from society. The cure of a leper was as difficult as raising a person from the dead.

Thankfulness brings breakthroughs! With thanksgiving, comes joy! And we know that the joy of the Lord is our strength!! Yes, friends!! God delights in the praises of His people!! Wouldn't you want to put a smile on God's face for all He's done for you? ^^

Not only that, a thankful person is a positive person!! :) A thankful person is positive about the future cos they are always grateful for everything in their life! The spirit of thankfulness to God, brings positive-ness and the power to embrace the future knowing full well that all things are possible with God!

* * * * * *

1. When in need, pray!

  • Luke 17:13

A life of thanksgiving is a life of prayer!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

2. Obey, to receive!

  • Luke 17:14b

When God says you're healed, you are!!! When God says you're saved, you are!!!

And as God calls you to go out in faith believing He has healed and saved you, as an act of obedience... you go out! You obey His voice to receive His promise. to receive His healing power!! :)

3. Don't forget to.......... THANK HIM!

  • Luke 17:15

We are call to give thanks to God!! :)
In verse 17 and 18,
Jesus asked,"Were not all ten-cleased? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"

Sometimes we take God for granted and forget to thank and praise Him for all He has blessed us with! I'm sure that no matter how hard your day has been, or your week for the matter, there's always something you can thank God for
!! Each breath that we take is a gift from God and the fact the Jesus died on the cross for our sins is something we can never thank God enough for!!! :)

4. Faith always go with action!

  • Luke 17:19

Jesus said to the leper who thanked Him, "Rise up and go; your faith has made you well."

All 10 lepers were healed from their leprosy, but what did Jesus meant when He said to one of the leper, your faith has made you well. Jesus was offering this leper something more than the others. They received healing, but this Samaritan receives a deeper salvation in addition. His faith has prompted him to return to the feet of Jesus in thanks, and that personal contact, that personal submission signifies a soul healing that is more than skin deep.

The bible says, faith without works is dead.(James 2:26) Our faith prompts us to action!!! As we speak loud words of faith, even the mountains will move!! as we walk in faith in the actions we take, breakthroughs happen!!! :)

10 lepers were healed by Jesus, but only ONE came back to thank and praise God, only ONE.

Would you have been the ONE who was thankful???

Will you be the ONE who thank God today for all He has blessed you with?

Will you be the ONE? ^^

All things work for the good... :)

THE BURNING HUT

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened - everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me?" he cried.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It's easy to get discouraged sometimes when things appear to be going badly, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering.

Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground, it may just be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for it...

You say, "It's impossible".
God says: "All things are possible". (Luke 18:27)
You say, "I'm too tired."
God says: "I will give you rest". (Matt 11:28-20)
You say, "Nobody really loves me".
God says: "I love you". (John 3:16; John 13:34)
You say, "I can't go on."
God says: "My grace is sufficient." (II Cor. 12:9; Psalm 91:15)

You say, "I can't figure things out."
God says: "I will direct your steps." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
You say, "I can't do it."
God says: "You can do all things through Christ." (Phil 4:13)
You say, "It's not worth it."
God says: "It will be worth it." (Romans 8:28)
You say, "I can't forgive my self."
God says: "I forgive you." (I John 1:9; Romans 8:1)

You say, "I can't manage."
God says: "I will supply all your needs." (Phil 4:19)
You say, "I'm afraid."
God says: "I have not given you a spirit of fear." (2 Tim. 1:7)
You say, "I'm always worried and frustrated".
God says: "Cast all your cares on ME (I Peter 5:7)
You say, "I don't have enough faith."
God says: "I've given everyone a measure of faith." (Romans 12:3)

You say, "I'm not smart enough."
God says: "I give you wisdom." (James 1:5)
You say, "I feel all alone."
God says "I will never leave you or forsake you." (Heb. 13:5)
– Source unknown.

There are some weeks that we all feel our huts are burning. I don't know why we go through these times, but I do know that after each trial, there is strength for the next trial, and I know we can't do it without Him.

*grins* Just some food for thought! :)

Just know that no matter what happens, God understands. Whatever problems we may be facing, heartaches that are dealing with, Jesus has gone through it all. All our pain, our sins, our burdens, He has paid the price for it all when He choose to die on the cross for You and Me! Rejoice for God has conquer death!!! And know that He can conquer everything else!!! There's no problem bigger than our GOD!! and yes, rest assure that all things are possible with GOD!

..for we know that all things work for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

*grins* Do you love GOD? If you do, then praise God! Rest in His peace and assurance that only He can give. Cling on to His promises and I know He will never fail you! :)

God bless ya!!!!

Temple of the Holy Spirit

Do you know that when you received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior you were ‘born-again’ and at that instant your spirit was renewed (or made brand new). And if you invited him to do so, the Holy Spirit moved in to live, dwell and abide in your spirit.

"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple." 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

"Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own." 1 Corinthians 6:19

WOW!!!

We are
  • God's Residence!
  • God's Address!

1. Purity

  • The Holy Spirit only lives in cleansed places.
  • We are cleansed from sins by the blood of Jesus

Matthew 12:34 says, "....out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks"

2. Presence of God

In 2 Corinthians 6:16, "..For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said : 'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

John 14:16-21 says, "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. "

  • Tabernacle of Moses
  • Tabernacle of David
  • Temple of Solomon

3. Praise & Prayer

Our spirit need to be in one with the spirit of God which is the Holy Spirit!! To be aligned with the Holy Spirit, we need to walk in the spirit and die to our flesh!

When our spirit is in one with the Spirit of God, we are filled with God's annointing and it makes it easier for us to hear God speak & easier for the Holy Spirit to guide & lead us each and every day.

Therefore, we need to build our inner man!! We need to edify our spirit, and scripture tells us that we build our spirit man by reading the word of God & praying in tongues (praying in the Spirit)!

  • 2 Chronicles 7:1

Let our temple be filled!!

Let Go And Let God.

We had an amazing Father's Day sermon! Very thought-provoking.. by Pastor Ronnie Teoh! :)

SO yes, firstly... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!
(to all fathers out there!! haha, and fathers-to-be!)

Let Go, Let God!
So what does it mean to let go?...and let God? READ ON!

The sermon was preached based on Exodus 2:1-10 which is the early life of Moses!

A. The story of Moses in this passage says more than meets the eye!
  • Background: The jews in Egypt had grown too numerous. Pharoah commanded all Jewish boys to be killed

  • When Moses' parents let God take control, a series of miracles happened in order to preserve the child.

Questions without logical answer:

  1. Didn't Pharoah's daughter know about the king's command?
  2. What made her defy it?
  3. Couldn't she make the connection, that the girl who approached her was Moses' sister?
  4. A hebrew woman to nurse the baby, wouldn't it be a conspiracy?
  5. Moses' mother got a salary to teach him about their faith in God!
  6. A young hebrew raised in Pharoah's court! Didn't it raise objections/questions?

B. Just as God had a place for Moses in His plans then, He wants our children for His plans for Malaysia today.

  • God is waiting for us to let go of our children but we are not listening.

  • When we truly let go and let God direct our children's lives, He will surprise us with what He can do with them.

C. Application- If God is going to do great things with our children, we need to understand 2 things:

  • Set our children free for the Lord's use.

  • Teach our children to follow the Lord, serve Him wholeheartedly and to make sacrifices, of necessary.

*grins* Actually the preacher gave out notes.. we had to fill in the blanks! :)

Yes, to sum it all up, parents were challenged to let go of their children & let God take control.

Haha, not let go as in let them be, but to trust that God has a plan and future for their child. After all, God has no grandchildren... haha, which means we are all children of God. ^^

As seen in the Moses' life. His mother willingly let go, and let God. And because of that, Moses' life was sparred and he grew up to be a great man of God which God used for His glory & purpose! Imagined if Moses' mother refuse to let go of him as a child.... what if she was too scared to act... too afraid to release her baby into God's hand... it would have cost her Moses' life!

*grins* sorree no pics!

I guess since most of us are still youths... haha, what we can get from this is that we should let go, and let God take control if OUR LIVES. :)

Sacred Assembly by Ps. Sean Prasad

Joel 1:14
Declare a holy fast;
call a sacred assembly.
summon the elders
and all who live in the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.

Joel 2:15
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
declare a holy fast,
call a sacred assembly

-we are called to be a peculiar people not familiar
-peculiar -->weird, strange to the world
-the church must be a sacred assembly
-prophets are strange people but they are God's people
-The call is to form a strange sacred assembly

-the church cannot be like the world
-we are in this world but not of the world

..our dressing, our speech, our behaviour, our lifestyle, us as Christians..
does it reflect God or the world??

-we are to be made holy, to be different
-holy -->Hagious [Greek]
-Hagious --> consecrated, separated, dedicated
-in order to be holy, we have to walk before God always

..Blow the trumpet in Zion..
the trumpet is blown because there is a call to form a sacred assembly set apart for God's purpose and promises.

To form a Sacred Assembly :

.::. Repent With All Your Heart .::.

Joel 2:12
"even now," declares the Lord,
"return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning."

...return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning..[repentance]

-repent completely and continually every single moment of our lives.
-repent in every area of our lives
-let not one part of us get away with sin and wrong-doing
-keep your heart soft and mind strong [not the other way round]
-it must be of true repentance not just a mere feeling of remorse and regret
-true repentance must be of 100% not 99.9999%
-forgive those who have hurt us in any way
-if we don't, we will kill our spiritual life
-hurt --> bitterness --> hatred --> damnation to our souls
-learn to forgive as the Father forgives us

.::. Rend Your Heart .::.

Joel 2:13
Rend your heart and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.

-break your heart, tear it before God
-God do not reject a heart that is broken
-God desires a heart that is soft and sensitive to Him
-don't ever harden your heart towards Him
-God wants to do a spiritual surgery on your heart
-God was broken so you will be blessed
-only when you are broken, you cannot be moulded into His image
-until and unless God destroys the old, He cannot build a new one
-until and unless He kills the old, He cannot bring forth life
-until and unless He wounds the old, He cannot heal

.::. Return To God With All Your Heart .::.

Joel 2:13
Rend your heart and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.

-Remember God always as your first love
-Remember the day when you first experience His love
-Remember the day when you were all fired up for God
-walk together with Him in all circumstances
-His spirit will convict our spirit and we have to respond

Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment

Joel 2:12
"even now," declares the Lord,
"return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning."

until and unless we repent with all our heart, we cannot love God with all our heart

Generosity

Hey all, going to share a bit about what happened on sunday and give a recap on what we did. I'll post about our 'gifts' we want and what we did soon and here's the story i read out at the end if you're interested to read it again.

THE BRICK

A young and very successful executive named traveling down a street in his BMW down the streets of KL. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no child darted out, but a brick sailed out and - WHUMP! - it smashed Into the BMW's shiny black side door! SCREECH..!!!! Brakes slammed! Gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the car back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown. He jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid and pushed him up against a parked car. He shouted at the kid, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?!" Building up a head of steam, he went on. "That's my new BMW, that brick you threw is gonna cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it?"
"Please, mister, please. . . I'm sorry! I didn't know what else to do!" Pleaded the youngster. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop!" Tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car. "It's my brother, mister," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."
Moved beyond words, the young executive tried desperately to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. Straining, he lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be OK. He then watched the younger brother push him down the sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long walk back to car -a long and slow walk. He never did fix the side door and kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at him to get his attention. . . Some bricks are softer than others. Feel for the bricks of life coming at to you. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has positive answers.

Psalm 23.

(taken from an e-mail) ^^
.
Psalm 23 ( King James Version )
LORD Is My Shepherd
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

This is an eye opener
You probably never thought nor looked at this Psalm in this way
even though many among us may have said it over and over again

The Lord is my shepherd
That's relationship

I shall not want
That's supply

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That's rest

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That's refreshment

He restoreth my soul
That's healing

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
That's guidance

For His name sake
That's purpose

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That's testing

I will fear no evil
That's protection

For thou art with me
That's faithfulness

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
That's discipline

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies
That's hope

Thou anointest my head with oil
That's consecration

My cup runneth over
That's abundance

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That's blessing

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That's security

Forever
That's eternity

What is most valuable is not what we have in our lives,
but WHO we have in our lives.

letters and sweet fragrance

was doing my morning quiet time when i came across this passage which really struck me. [lolx.. to wait till the next snippets of life to share it is too long, so yea here it is]

2 Corinthians 3:1-3
-are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

our lives are to be like letters from God whereby everyone can read and understand. God's life is to be inscripted in our very lives so that His very life and His very nature can be imparted to everyone through us, His ultimate instruments.

Is our lives like letters today; letters which are easy to read and understand? or is it so complicated that no one can seem to comprehend?
Is God having alot of difficulty portraying His Life through us? if so, how can He ever use us?

He can only use us until and unless our lives is one with His, when our lives no longer contradicts His nature but in order to live our lives like that in such a total alignment with His, we have to so surrender our lives to God, to allow Him to come and do as He please.

whatever that is preventing us from coming closer to Him, He will tear down, smite it and destroy it, no matter how precious it is to us and how it will crush us when it is gone. whatever that is building our relationship with Him, He will keep it, perserve it and mantain it no matter how much it pains us and even if we hate it.

but this process takes a serious long time. it might take an entire lifetime for God to achieve somthing so great in our lives. so are we willing to let go and let God have His way or are we gonna just keep struggling with Him? the more we struggle, argue and fight God, the longer it's gonna take.

now you know why God takes a serious long time to change a man's heart? why He had to allow His very chosen people to walked in the wilderness for 40 years? it took God 40 years to change the hearts of His people, to soften their hearts but even so, ONLY TWO out of so many were totally transformed [Caleb and Joshua].

if we actually move back a little to 2 Corinthians 2:14-16, we find that it is talking about the same thing but only in a different manner.

2 Corinthians 2:14-16
...and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life.

we very well know that we can't run away from smell. there's always a process called diffusion when smell is involved. we can't run away from the smell from perfume or from a rotten egg. everyone will know if someone is using perfume. smell can be easily distinguished.

so now i ask again, is our lives like sweet aroma to God? or do our lives stinks? can everyone smell the sweet fragrance of Christ in us? or do they run away from us everytime we get near beacuse there is absolutely no aroma of Christ in us, only a really horrible rotten smell?

how are we representing Christ our ever living God today? how are we reflecting His image and nature? are people reading and smelling Christ in us? are they coming into a knowledge of Christ through us?

here is the test to see whether we are representing God accurately....

know that good and bad can never go together. holy and unholy cannot be mixed. so everytime after we mingle with people, are they convicted of their sins even when no one mention it to them? do people feel uncomfortable being with us because everytime when they are near us, they can't hide, they are stripped down to bare nakedness, all their sins are exposed without us even realising it? we don't have to point out their sins, just by being there and mixing with them, they feel exposed, they can never remain the same after talking to us.

something had happened in their Spirit.

when is the last time someone feels uneasy around you and never wants to be near you? Is our God living in us that real to a point where people around us who are living in sin feels uncomfortable everytime we get near or talk to them about random stuff because the Life of God in us is constantly exposing all of their sins?

or is our God who dwells in us so dead and powerless that even the worst of people who talks to us don't feel His utmost awemose power convicting them of sin?

Our Lord Jesus Christ caused many people to repent and be convicted of their sinful nature just by being with people because of the Life of the Father that is in Him. Jesus constantly portrays the very nature of God with utmost accuracy every moment of His life.

it's never easy living like that. it takes a long process to achieve this state but are we willing? are we ready to go through all that God has installed for us just so that His Life can be shown on our faces?

We have to let go of EVERY SINGLE thing and yeild 100% to Him not 99%. We need to come back to that correct alignment with His and make our lives right before Him. We can't do this on our own but God can bring us to that level with His strength and grace and mercy. He can work miracles in our lives. He can make our paths straight again only and only if we are willing and desperate enough...

How Do You Walk On Water?

Entry No. VIII
Start At--------------------: 14th April 2007
Declared By--------------: Pastor Joshua Lee Chin Bun
Summarize By-----------: Goh Ke Jing
Inspired By --------------: The Father, The Son And The Holy Ghost
Source of Information-: Zondervan New International Version Study Bible
=================================================================================
The New Testament,
Matthew,
Chapter 14 Verse 22 to 31.

Peter walked on water.
How did he do it?

Peter was a normal man but he walked on water.
He asked Jesus Christ to call him to walk to Him.
Jesus Christ called to him to come to Him.
Peter walk on water.
But then he start to worry about the waves around him and then he start to drown
Why did he drown even Jesus called him?

He walked on water because he had his eyes on Jesus Christ.
But because he worried about the waves around him and stop look on Jesus Christ.
He started to drown.

Here is a short picture story...

There are four main things that we should keep in our minds...

I. To Ask and Keep on Asking.
-As Peter asked before he do anything.
-If Peter had just gone into the water without calling onto Jesus, he will have gone straight to the bottom of the sea.
-So we should be like Peter, ask Jesus Christ before we take on an action.

II. To Seek His Will
-Our Faith is to do the Will of God
-It is said that if what we seek is of the Will of God, we will be safe not matter what come towards us.
-No one and nothing can stop the Will of God.
-He will be and have been ensuring our safety all the time.
-As Peter had sought the Will of God, he was safe from the dangers of the sea.

III. To Wait on The Lord
-Peter waited for Jesus Christ to call him before he went to Him.
-As Peter had, we should wait on the Lord for his answer.
-His voice will ensure that that is of His Will.
-If we had walked before we are told to go, we will fall.

IV. To Move on and Walk to Him
-In the Will of God and already having his answer, we should walk on with full confidence in the Lord as we are send by our Lord.
-Having all these we shouldn't procrastinate or even having a single doubt or worry.

Fortress of his Solitude

Leave me alone.

Crying from within, he yelled out as loud as he could. No one would ever hear him yelling, not because the cafeteria was just full of noise and chatting of poeple who couldn't care more about him, but because he never yelled out loud. He shouted and shouted, only in his heart for his very self from within to hear.

Perhaps he thought he could handle things better now that he has learnt his lesson. Perhaps he has learned to wait upon the Lord and seek His kingdom first. Perhaps now that He was called into the ministries, he would be more focused on serving God.

He was serving God, but it became such struggle, such pain, such a burden.

He was struggling from within. His struggle was with his studies. He recently flunked an economics paper and scraped through with a miserable 'pass' for his accounts. He thought he's going to fail the upcoming calculus paper, and he said, why bother studying if all that's going to happen is just another failure?

His struggle was with a girl. He never learn his lessons. From afar he would watch his favourite girl yacking and laughing with other people. Again he wanted to be that guy that could always make her laugh. But I'm just not that guy.

And he was devastated. He wasn't getting what he wanted the most. He didn't achieve what he set his heart out to do.

Dejected and defeated, he walked back to his classroom on the thrid floor and stared blankly into the open skies. Wondering what would be coming next, he saw something he never saw before.

It was a beautiful bird that glided across the skies in front of his very eyes. At first sight he thought that it was a dove. White feathers that blanketed its small and yet sturdy body, as it gracefully made its way through half the horizon of his vision it was just at such ease and worry-free. He started to envy the dove, wishing that he could be just like that dove. Living a life of no problems, no troubles and no tears.

Then he suddenly stopped wishing. He saw the bird flapping its wings, revealing the lower part of its wings. He gasped at what he saw next.

Black.

The bottom part of its wings were black. He rubbed his eyes, thinking that it was just an optical illusion or it was the late nights that caused the hallucination or such, but he couldn't have mistaken after seeing it again. It was black at the bottom indeed. Not just at the wings, but the whole body.

From the bottom, people who looked above would have saw the black part of the bird and thought it was a crow.

Looking below from above, they would have saw the snow body of the bird and said it was a dove.

He realised that God was speaking to him with this bird.

A rare species of the bird it may be, but God's will is indeed a rare sight. People from below may never see the dove He gives to us, but it is indeed a dove. For what Man sees from the bottom up is a crow, a curse, a problem or a catastrophe; but beyond the crow that Man only sees is a gift that God Himself has sent from above, for what He sees and has in His great mind is not a crow, but a dove.

Struck with remorse, he prayed and repented. He knew that for him to be able to see His great plans and the dove of his life, he had to stand from where God stood and look down from above.

Maybe he could never get there. Maybe he will never ever be in such position, but that never did matter anymore. All that truly mattered was that now, he will never be alone without a friend or a companion, for in the fortress of his solitude, he cried out for help in despair, and God being the friend of the times and trials heard, and sent him what he needed most.

Easter Sunday

Yes yes, u wont be seeing anymore of the shining *Mission Possible* done by Liz when u open the LifeXtreme blog now, because this time its gonna be EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE!!.. But dont worry, Liz's post will be always there..... sorry aihz

Well, erm i dont have those chunted pictures like Liz's previous post, so im just gonna make this simple and short. Forgive me for any wrong words said aii..

2007 Easter started of with,

Celebrate Jesus celebrate

He is risen, He is risen
And He lives forevermore
He is risen, He is risen
Come on and celebrate
The ressurection of our Lord

Worship with - Amanda's lead. That was just one of the songs sang, and i felt it was really meaningful, all of the songs was. Because it was the day we celebrate the ressurection of our Lord Jesus! .... So, the service that day was a little bit different because it was held at the lakeside. Everyone looked excited while stepping on the grass except for me because i was lame enough to wear slippers and ended up soaking my feet in muddy grass but nothing could get in the way to ruin anything.

Almost the whole church came along to celebrate Easter though it started quite early, before the sun rised i think. Yeah, *bravos* to everyone. And those who missed it, u can still be updated with LifeXtreme blog. Just make sure u dont miss the next Easter. LOL.

After worship, LifeXtreme performed a short story entitled "It is Finished". Talking about what happened before Jesus died on the cross , when he was hung on the cross and when he rose from the dead. It was awesome! I did as what Jason said, close my eyes.... while listening.... it was like He was there.... yeah, thats why i said it was awesome!

Up next was a short message by Pastor Tham. Im sorry but i cant really remember everything that pastor said, all i can remember is " ...when Jesus rose from the dead - heavens rejoiced, the earth transformed and hells were terrified..... ". Aint Jesus powerful. He is memang The King of Kings ! . And deepest condolence to the family of late Uncle Chong, we will definately miss his presence but we know that he's celebrating Easter with Jesus already!

After that was games time! First, icebreaker - we were supposed to get to know one another by asking at least 3 people their names and etc. Then, the next game started of by grabbing 10 people and form a group. Got a list of things to stick on one of the members body. Kesiannye..
There was one of the items listed, amylase - everyone was wondering what was amylase until Liz said saliva. In my group, Bro. Lau had to actually spit some saliva out into a piece of double-faced tape, which was disgusting. - Am i supposed to tell about this as well ah ?? Opps.. just to add some flavour.
But Bro.Lau, Uncle Lim, Joash, Stanley and Erin did a great job 'modelling' with all the sticky stuffs like insects, astronauts, leaves, hairband, balloons, socks, white hair and the list goes on.

Lastly was breakfast! Most of them were hungry by that time, cant wait for the Nasi Lemak & karipap to be served. Too much of sambal in the Nasi Lemak for anti-chilly people like me.
After everyone kenyang already then, hmm balik rumah loh.- See u next Sunday!

Till then! =)

Revelation 1: 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever
and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Mission Possible! *sunday's sermon by Pr. David*

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

*With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26*

The 3 P's!
1. Passion
2. Plan
3. Prayer

1. PaSsiOn Of GOD.

*John3:16

What does it mean to have passion?
~ intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction.
~ ardent affection.
It's having an intense emotion that compels action!

Yes! Isn't great to know that God is passionate about us? That we are creations of God, engraved in the palms of His hand (Isaiah 49:16) , made in His image & breathed by His spirit!

His unconditional love for us was the reason why He gave His life for us at the cross! that we may be called children of God! (John 1:12, Romans 8)

Passion leads to boldness. It makes the impossible seem possible. & yes! with God on our side, it is mission possible! =)
What do you have in your life right now that seems impossible? Do you have a passion about it?
Start there. Because passion will compel you to action!

Always remember that God's passion overides our passion...so no matter how weak you may be feeling, know that you can always draw strength from God & ask Him to give you the passion to live your life in God's plan!

2. PLaNs of GOD

"God's plans endure forever; His purposes last eternally." Psalm 33:11

~

Jesus's life was a great example of living according to God's plan. He took the lead, & came from heaven to earth to show the way!

Jesus said, "...If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself & take up his cross daily and follow me."*Luke 9:23

Jesus has paved the way for us, are we willing to follow Him?

In Acts 1:8, we're called to be witness for God!

*

How do we know God's love is steadfast? - By looking at the story of God's people.

How do we know God keeps his promises? - By looking at his people.

How does the world hear about God's salvation? - By hearing the testimony of God's people.

God's plan for us is to be ambassadors of His kingdom, to go to the ends of the world to make His name known! *Ephesians 2:10*

Read Isaiah 55:11 & you will realize that God's plan never fails!

.

3. PrAyeR PoWEr!

Prayer must always accompany our work. We must persevere in our prayer, as we wait on God to work in us. *1 John 5:14

It's important to pray before for preparation, during for power & after for protection!

Ps. David illustrated a story about a missionary whose family & ministry was greatly affected & dampened because of the lack of prayer by the church. The story portrays the importance of being consistent & faithful in upholding Christian workers through prayer!

*Ephesians 3:20. God empowers us!

When we come before God in prayer & give Him full control of a situation, we are acknowledging His sovereignty in that area.

Prayer is therefore an opportunity to lift up the needs of others to God. Let's continue to pray for unreached nations, missionaries, pastors, leaders & whatever the Spirit leads us to pray for!

Do not underestimate the power of prayer!! =) Haha, yes! & remember to keep each other in prayer too!!

*Matthew 18:19-20* Again I say to you, that if two of you shall consent upon earth, concerning anything whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be done to them by my father who is in heaven. For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

*grins* yeah! so come for prayer meeting if you can!! ^^

~

wakakakaka! *bish* i just realize this was suppose to be a summary of Ps.David's sermon...& i think i ended up making it more complicated & around the bush. haha, just shot me!!!! haiyo...dun wan write adi!! i can only write long grandmother stories... haha, sorrie!! hope no one felt asleep while reading! =p

God bless!! Have an awesome week!

shortcut to heaven

i was driving on the road one fine morning with my dad by my side. earlier that morning, 'You are takng the wheels today' he said to me before i got into the backseat. 'umm..okay' i replied, close the door and took the keys from him.

while on the road, after picking up my brother from tuition, my dad asked me to take a different route home. noOoOoo.. i don't like new roads. what's wrong with the old route we usually take?? but i didn't say anything. i drove on but later i blurted out ' i can't remember the new route. you will have to show me the way' well thankfully he did. because if he didn't, God knows where we will be half an hour later.

after 10 minutes on the road, i felt much more relax. then i saw kota kemuning -2km- with a white arrow pointing left on the green sign board. just then my dad asked ' you know how to get home from here?' 'yea' i replied. thanks to the sign board

then this thought hit me. how nice it would be if instead of kota kemuning -2km- with a white arrow pointing left on the green sign board, it was eternal life -5 miles- with a red arrow pointing left on the probably a white sign board or maybe BEWARE: sufferings ahead -2miles-. then we would probably take a detour or turn in right.

life would be so much easier, isn't it?

all we have to do is just follow the sign borads carefully then we will be suffering-free!! ain't that great?? why wouldn't God think of such a brillant idea??

-lOlX-

because this life is a life we live by FAITH!!

yeS! if we were to just follow signboards, then we need not be obedient to God. because we know that no matter which route we take, we are bound to find a U-turn and start all over. then there will be no need for Jesus to descend from heaven to earth to die on the corss for us for our sins now, would there?

every turn we make, every step we take, we do it by faith!! but even so, we need to be obedient to God and just be so one with His desires. if He desires us to take the road less taken , then wouldn't be be foolish to take the otherwise??

let's face reality. there is no U-turn in this life we live. ok, maybe there is but if for 60 years of our life we had been on the wrong route, then if we were to take a U-turn, what gurantee is there that we will be able to make it back to the start before we breath our last breath except by God's mercy and grace that He provide us with a shortcut. so even there is a U-turn in our spiritual walk with Christ, let's live as if there is none so that we would be able to take each step with utmost precaution knowing that one wrong step may lead us to great regret that may last for eternity.

let's tune our hearts to His desires and focus on Him alone throughout our walk with Him. let not any route seem greener than the one He desires us to walk on and cause us to stray away. let's live our life in total obedience to God. let's open our ears to hear and eyes to see God's heart so that we may not tread on the wrong path. let our heart desires be His heart desires.
